YEMANJA (2026)
Yemanja is the first single released by Sæl as The Selkie & The Sailor. Yemanja tells the story of a crew sailing across the ocean and describes both the terror and awe the ocean invokes. Sæl’s haunting voice glides over seductive guitar chords and enchanting mandolin (Kiah Wells), as strings add to the watery atmosphere (Leslie Cottrell & Ben Mygatt). An ode to the ocean goddess Yemanja and an anthem for sailors and ocean dreamers alike.

BETTER THAN TRUTH (2020)
Better than Truth is the first single released by Sæl, produced by Michiel de Koning. Inspired by the awe and wonder of nature, the song incorporates earthy sounds ~ cicadas and birds ~ with ethereal samples ~ glass harp, synthesizer ~ Sæl’s enchanting voice being the bridge between the two worlds. It describes a journey from earth, through the sky, over the moon, and back down to earth again to find something better than truth…

DREAMLAND (2025)
Dreamland was written and recorded by Sæl during the COVID lockdown. This concept album tells the story of a selkie’s journey into an ethereal place called “The Dreamland” as she experiences winter for the first time. Whether it tells a story of magical encounters with mythological characters, or is simply a glimpse into the dreaming world of a hibernating mind, its magical realism reflects the surreal nature of the time in which it was written.
